Dialogue between a teacher and a student where the student tries to explain why they didn’t turn in their homework

Teacher: Rahul, you didn’t submit your homework again. This is the second time this week. What’s going on? Student: I’m really sorry, ma’am. I desired to finish it, but something took place at home. Teacher: What happened? You recognise that this assignment was crucial. Student: Yes, I know. However last night my younger brother was sick. I had working parents, and so I had to take care of him. Teacher: Oh… I see. Is he okay now? Student: Yes, he’s feeling better today. However, I could not do my homework as the boy was crying the whole night. Teacher: I understand, Rahul. However, you should let me know if such a thing happens. It is impossible to escape from doing the work. Student: I know, ma’am. I’ll do it today and hand it over to you the other day. Am I able to have one more day? Teacher: Alright. I will give you an extra day. I hope this is not a habit of yours though. Student: Thank you, ma’am. I swear that it will never happen again.

Little dialogue between two friends as regards learning English.

Ali: Hi, Sara! How are you? Sara: I'm good, Ali. How about you? Ali: I'm fine. What I would like to do is to improve my English. Do you have any tips? Sara: Yes! First, make an effort into using English daily. Ali: I have no one though to discuss it with. Sara: You are able to speak with yourself in the mirror. It helps with speaking. Ali: That’s a good idea. What about learning new words? Sara: Learn 5 new words every day. Use them in sentences. Ali: And grammar? It’s so hard! Sara: One does not have to worry about the grammar too much at the outset. Just keep speaking and reading. Ali: What should I read? Sara: Start with simple stories or children's books. Or you may watch English cartoons or watch English videos with subtitles. Ali: Thank you, Sara. I will do anything of that! Sara: You’re welcome! Keep on doing, do not give up!
